Surrendering my plans and learning to follow His leading
Good morning.
It’s 3:13 a.m. My time with the Lord was wonderful this morning. At first, I kept falling asleep while trying to pray. Then I got wise, got all the way up, and truly entered into prayer.
I’ve been reflecting on my first interview yesterday evening. It was for a position I applied for through AWAI (American Writers & Artists Inc.), and I believe it went well. I’m supposed to know by 8:00 a.m. this morning whether I got the job.
I’ve been praying for an open door that no man can shut and no man can open.
Revelation 3:7 (AMPC) And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David,
Who opens and no one shall shut, and Who shuts and no one shall open:
I’ve also prayed that if this is God’s open door for me, I won’t mess it up and that I’ll do the very best job I can. And if this is not of the Lord, that He would close this door for me. Either way, I praise Him for the experience and for the opportunity to grow through it.
How was your first interview? I would love to hear all about it.
No matter how this turns out, I’m a winner because of the experience. It’s a step closer to where I want to be. It’s a stepping stone for me to finally put myself out there and show what I can and will do for my clients.
I will wait patiently on the Lord, for it is He who guides my every move, every decision, and every open door. His ways are better than my ways. His thoughts are higher than my thoughts. His way of doing things is far better than mine.
This has been a learning experience, and I’ve learned so much about what to expect. It’s preparation for my next interview, if I need one. I am praying to build a strong, long-lasting relationship with whoever hires me.
Father God, in the name of Jesus, I surrender everything into Your hands. You know the outcome of every decision I make. Help me to surrender my decisions to You, because You know the beginning and the ending of all things.
(“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” — Revelation 22:13, AMPC)
I want Your will to be done in me and in my life on a daily basis. Help me to make godly decisions and to walk out Your Word in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
(“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6, AMPC)
In this season, God is teaching me to trust in Him completely—one day at a time. He has begun a good work in me, and I am trusting Him to complete it. This is a lifelong journey of faith and growth, and I am ready for it..
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will continue to perfect and complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
— Philippians 1:6, AMPC
