A Season of Preparation
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.”
— Romans 8:28 (AMPC)
Good morning.
It’s Thursday, January 29th, at 2:22 in the morning.
I’m almost afraid to admit this, but I am trusting in the Lord. I received the job yesterday that I applied for through the AWAI “Writers Wanted” job board.
I don’t officially start until tomorrow. We are just finalizing the details.
This didn’t happen overnight. It came after months of studying, praying, writing, doubting, trying again, and showing up anyway. God was working even when I couldn’t see it. If you’re in a waiting season, don’t give up. He sees you—and He is preparing you.
God’s Unexpected Answer
“I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut.”
— Revelation 3:8 (AMPC)
Remember when I said the other day that I felt something was about to change, but I wasn’t sure what it was? Now I know. It was an open door for this job.
It’s not freelance like my business, but I do work remotely.
There were days when I wondered if my writing would ever turn into anything. Days when I felt invisible. But God was writing this chapter the whole time.
Depending on Him Daily
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6 (AMPC)
I have several responsibilities to attend to. One of them is copyediting.
I pray in the name of Jesus, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, that God will teach me how to copyedit. That He will equip me with what I need to know and help me do it well.
In this season, God is teaching me to trust Him more, to step out in faith, and to depend on Him daily. I’m learning that obedience opens doors that effort alone never could.
Trusting His Direction
“The steps of a good man are directed and established by the Lord, and He delights in his way.”
— Psalm 37:23 (AMPC)
Praise You, Jesus, for this job.
And if, for any reason, this is not from You, Lord, then close this door. I only want Your will to be done in my life. I give You the praise either way.
I’ll be honest—I’m excited, but I’m also nervous. This is new for me. But I know God didn’t bring me this far to leave me now.
My prayer now is that I will be a good steward of this opportunity. That I will work with excellence, integrity, and humility, and represent Christ well in everything I do.
Your Breakthrough Is Coming
“Let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in doing right, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9 (AMPC)
This journey has reminded me that God is faithful. Even when I don’t see the full picture, He does. Even when I feel unsure, He is steady.
I’m choosing to walk into this next season with prayer, gratitude, and obedience.
To anyone who is waiting, praying, and trusting—don’t give up. Your door may be closer than you think.
What has the Lord done for you lately?
I’m looking forward to reading your testimony.
