Good morning,
It’s one of those mornings where the desire just isn’t there.
For the past few months, I’ve been consistent—studying, writing, growing.
But these last few weeks?
It’s been hard to focus. Hard to sit down. Hard to keep going.
The words slowed down.
The motivation faded.
And somewhere in the middle of working through lessons and trying to stay disciplined… I started to feel like I was running out of steam.
And I had to stop and ask myself:
How do you keep going when you don’t feel like it?
Do you just push through?
Do you wait for motivation to come back?
Do you rest?
Do you pray?
The answer I kept coming back to was simple—but not always easy:
Pray… and then move.
Not just prayers spoken and left there—but prayers put into motion.
Because Scripture reminds us:
“Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”
— James 2:17
That hit me differently this time.
I realized… I didn’t need to feel ready.
I didn’t need a surge of motivation.
I needed to take one small step of faith.
So I did.
I prayed…
And then I opened the page anyway.
I didn’t feel like writing—but I started writing anyway.
And right there, in the middle of my resistance…
God met me.
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
— Philippians 2:13
He didn’t wait for me to feel inspired.
He met me in the act of obedience.
That’s when I remembered:
I’m not doing this alone.
When I feel tired… He strengthens.
When I feel stuck… He leads.
When I feel empty… He fills.
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
Even in this slow season…
Even in this low moment…
He is still faithful.
And something else settled in my spirit:
God isn’t surprised by my thoughts.
He’s not shaken by my frustration.
He’s not disappointed because I hit a low point.
He’s right there—waiting for me to come to Him.
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.”
— Psalm 55:22
So today, I’m choosing something simple:
Not perfection.
Not pressure.
Just faith in motion.
One prayer.
One step.
One sentence at a time.
And if you’re in a place like this too—where the desire is low and the calling still remains…
Start there.
Pray.
Then move.
God will meet you in the middle of it.
Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for being with me—even in the moments when I feel tired, distracted, or unmotivated.
You see every thought, every struggle, and every effort to keep going.
Help me not to rely on feelings, but on faith.
Give me the strength to take action even when I don’t feel like it.
Remind me that You are working in me—guiding me, strengthening me, and completing what You started.
Teach me to put You first in everything I do.
And when I feel like I’m running out of steam, help me remember that Your grace never runs out.
I trust You to carry me through this season.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
