This morning, I woke up early—1:38 a.m.—and began my day with the Lord Jesus.
Before the world was quiet. Before the noise started. Before responsibilities and distractions set in.
I opened my Bible to 2 Chronicles, and as I read, something stood out to me.
King after king faced problems.
Some chose to serve God with their whole heart and soul.
Some turned away and did what was evil in His sight.
Over and over again, God sent warnings.
Over and over again, He sent prophets, correction, and chances to repent.
Yet many still refused to listen.
They kept living life their own way.
And as I read, I couldn’t help but think…
That sounds a lot like today.
So many people are living however they want, never acknowledging Jesus Christ. Never seeking God’s wisdom. Never asking Him for direction.
And yet their lives are filled with stress, confusion, broken relationships, financial pressure, and emotional pain.
They’re struggling.
They’re searching.
They’re tired.
But they don’t know where to turn.
Or maybe they’ve forgotten.
The truth is this:
Every problem we face has an answer in Jesus.
Not because life becomes perfect.
Not because trouble disappears.
But because Christ gives us wisdom, peace, strength, and direction in every season.
The kings who prospered in 2 Chronicles weren’t perfect.
They were faithful.
They sought God.
They listened.
They humbled themselves.
They repented when they were wrong.
They put Him first.
And God honored that.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (AMPC) says:
“If My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”
That promise is still true today.
When we choose God…
When we seek Him early…
When we listen instead of rushing…
When we pray instead of panicking…
He responds.
This quiet early morning reminded me of something:
Every day, we get to choose.
Will I live my way?
Or will I live God’s way?
Will I depend on myself?
Or will I depend on Christ?
Will I ignore His voice?
Or will I follow it?
Joshua said it best:
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
That’s my choice.
Every morning.
Every season.
Every step.
And I pray it becomes yours too.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for meeting me in the quiet moments.
Thank You for Your Word that teaches, corrects, and guides.
Help me to choose You daily.
Help me to listen when You speak.
Help me to walk in obedience, even when it’s hard.
I trust You with every area of my life.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
